What I Do
In 2019, I directed Five Lesbians Eating A Quiche by Andrew Hobgood and Evan Linder with my dear friend Katie Stevenson. The show was produced by Kenyon College Players.
I've also directed The Importance of Being Earnest by Oscar Wilde and Puffs by Matt Cox at Camp Onaway.
In the fall of 2019 I began working for Kenyon's Technical Director as a scene shop assistant. I have worked on the set construction for department productions of The House of Bernarda Alba by Federico García Lorca and When We Were Young and Unafraid by Sarah Treem.
I have been the assistant lighting designer on Crimes of the Heart by Beth Henley and Agnes of God by John Pielmeier. I also designed the lights for A Delicate Ship by Anna Ziegler.
In the fall of 2019, I founded a student organization with my friends for developing student written work. The organization has hosted staged readings, and produced The 24 Hour Plays: Viral Monologues for Kenyon during the COVID-19 pandemic.
I am a member of Kenyon's only sketch comedy group. We write, rehearse, and perform a sketch show every semester. In our next year, I will be one of the co-heads of the group.
Having worked at my camp for 4 summers, I have redesigned the drama curriculum, directed 2 camp plays, and acted as Head of the Arts.
In my freshman year at Kenyon College, I assistant stage managed Be Aggressive by Annie Weisman and Trudy and Max in Love by Zoe Kazan. Since then I have acted as the Production Stage Manager for the Rocky Horror Picture Show shadow cast, Kankedort by Kate Kremer, and Bottle Fly by Jacqueline Goldfinger.
Sometimes I act! In 2018, I played The Moor Hen in The Moors by Jen Silverman, produced by StageFemmes. In Spring 2021, I will be playing the role of Sonia in Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike by Christopher Durang in partial fulfillment of my senior exercise in drama.
I have sound designed for The Importance of Being Earnest by Oscar Wilde, Homos, or Everyone in America by Jordan Seavey, and The House of Bernarda Alba by Federico García Lorca. My sound design for The House of Bernarda Alba won the 2020 Thomas S. Turgeon Award for sound design.
Kenyon College Dance, Drama & Cinema Club provides a resource for students involved in the Dance, Drama, Film Department at Kenyon. I have served as the Sophomore Representative, Secretary, and will be taking on the next year as President.
The Billy Shakes Project uses Shakespeare for educational outreach in Knox County. In the past we have performed shortened Shakespeare plays, directed Elementary School students, and hosted educational after-school programs. I have served as the Billy Shakes secretary, Educational Coordinator, and President.
